Clinical Support for the Unaccompanied Child

Forced displacement and the act of migration itself is a stressful experience with the potential for layers of traumatic and adverse experiences.  The approach to aid of children and families is one that should be approached with dignity and respect of the individual and non-judgement.  Such an approach may be guided with an appreciation for principles and frameworks that center the best interest of the child, trauma-informed practices, cultural humility, and equity.
